Owner & Chief Curator of The Handpicked Home; a sales & marketing leader with a passion for interior design and love of gift-giving. Piya's extensive experience in relationship-building and marketing for the retail environment was used to create a space that welcomes customers into a warm atmosphere full of unique home & lifestyle items, meant to enjoy and share with loved ones.

Shop Local

From the start, our goal was to create a community-oriented business that emphasizes supporting local in as many ways as possible. By choosing local, we can feel good about our purchases, supporting our local economy and investing in small businesses so that they can continue to provide their customers with great service and wonderful products! For The Handpicked Home, offering locally- and artisan-made goods means our customers get to discover how much talent there is right in our own backyards, and learn about the maker’s story and how each treasure is uniquely made – and that is a wonderful gift to share with everyone who walks through our shop.

Community Love

We are proud to be part of a community that has shown our little shop nothing but love since we opened our doors in 2015, and do our best to support all aspects of our neighborhood.

I was so honored to be approached by the City of White Rock’s Arts & Cultural department to join a very talented team and help jury the artists that would take part in the Artisan Pop-Up on Johnston Road for 2015 & again in 2016; I was also excited to be recruited onto the décor committee for the Peace Hospital Gala and take lead of the design ideas & set-up for the washrooms two years in a row; and my husband and I were so happy to help make a difference and bring new perspectives to the board of White Rock’s BIA in 2016 and again this year.

We continue to spread love through donations to various local charities and businesses such as SALI Semiahmoo Animal League, Coast Capital Playhouse, White Rock Firefighters Charity Association, The Legion, and Saints Rescue. It warms my heart to align with those who so selflessly take care of our people and animals the way these wonderful groups do.
